Other Events & Activities

We support the software engineering community by organizing and supporting events like conferences, workshops, and professional network meetings. In the following, you find an overview of ongoing and past events and activities.

International Software Product Management Association (ISPMA®)

The International Software Product Management Association (ISPMA®) promotes the discipline of software product management and establishes it in both academia and industry. Gerald Heller of Software.Process.Management is one of ISPMA®’s founding members. The association has developed and maintains the Software Product Management Body of Knowledge (SPMBOK), defines a growing curriculum for product management education, and supports various conferences, trainings, and association meetings.

TQA User Community

The TQA user community addresses the „Testing, Quality, and Application Lifecycle Management“ (TQA), particularly in relation to the products of OpenText like Quality Center/ALM, ALM Octane, and Unified Functional Testing (UFT). It has previously been a special interest group within the former Vivit Worldwide, which used to be the independent users community of Micro Focus (and previously HP/HPE Software). Dr. Andreas Birk of Software.Process.Management has initiated the user community and is one of its co-leaders. TQA and Vivit TQA have organized a series of webinars, events at HP’s annual conferences, and various regional meetings. Software.Process.Managements organizes and supports TQA activities especially in Germany and Switzerland.

Working Groups of the German Computer Society (GI e.V.)

Software.Process.Management actively supports working groups of the German Computer Society (Gesellschaft für Informatik, GI e.V.), in particular the sections on Requirements Engineering (RE) and on Testing, Analysis and Verification of Software (TAV). Over the past years, staff of Software.Process.Management has participated in or led working groups and has contributed as presenters at GI’s network meetings.

Conference Series on Software Architecture

Dr. Andreas Birk was technical advisor of the Software Architecture symposia of Technische Akademie Esslingen (TAE): TAE-Symposium „Software-Architektur“. From 2011 to 2013 these symposia gathered practitioners from software development, systems development, and IT. The events provided an information source and discussion forum on topics like software architecture docmentation, architecture for embedded systems, and software product lines.

LSO+RE 2006 Workshop

Andreas Birk of SWPM was co-chair of the LSO+RE 2006 workshop on „Learning Software Organizations and Requirements Engineering“ on March 27/28, 2006, in Hanover, Germany. Results from the workshop have also been published in a special issue of the J.UKM Journal of Universal Knowledge Management.
